Dark chocolate brownies

Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped into pieces
  • 175g unsalted butter
  • 325g caster sugar
  • 130g plain flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 50g walnuts, chopped (optional)
  • g sugar to decorate

Directions

A lovely friend of mine shared a recipe she uses to make brownies...I adjusted it here and there, but it still turned out yummy :)
  1. Put the chocolate and butter in a heat proof bowl, and place in the microwave for around 2 minutes (stopping in between and mixing it), until all is melted and smooth
  2. Add in the sugar, and mix well. Then add the flour, and mix until all is incorporated
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and keep mixing until smooth. Then add the walnuts if you fancy and mix 
  4. Pour the mixture into a roughly 30 x 20 cm baking tray, lined with baking paper, and place into the oven at 170 degrees Celsius for 20-25 mins (once the top is flaky but inside is soft). Once done, remove and leave to completely cool before cutting it into pieces and dusting with icing sugar

Gooey on the inside, flaky on the outside....with that added crunch of the walnuts. Yum! Enjoy :)
